when it rains
i've been meaning to do this for a long time, so finally, i've got the time.
because tomorrow is a friggin' holiday.
thank God for selangor and it's many holidays. be jealous, kl people!
anyways,
presenting
Most Commonest Malaysian Names Ever
based on the contacts in my phonebook.
The Second Most Common Malaysian Names Ever
1. Adrian
okaylah, given that my other assumption is that all adrians are good-looking (especially in reference to adrian brody and adrian grenier), this isn't exactly a bad thing.
Adrian Wong
he's a churchmate, and we get along quite okay together. he's full of himself and his self-esteem is self-proclaimed as infallible.
Adrian Yap
he's also from church, but he's younger than me and (presumably) afraid of me. therefore, we don't talk much.
Adrian Yeong
he's been my classmate for two years. kekadang we're all nice and fine and friendly and sometimes we don't talk at all. like, now. he's also quite full of himself. maybe all adrians are full of themselves too.
2. Brian/Bryan
all the brians/bryans (same thing la) share common characteristics in that they are non-outspoken, people-oriented and charismatic people. however, i don't think i get along well with most brians/bryans.
Brian Seow
ex-churchmate, ex-schoolmate, with a penchant for soft and cute things and is never interested to become more involved or acquire leadership roles.
Bryan Han
my favouritest bryan out of the 3. they nicknamed him chicky cos prolly his rambut resembles that of a chicken i guess.
Bryan John
my ex-head prefect who still talks to and greets me in a very head prefect-like manner (which i find too polite) but still, he is the epitome of people-oriented and charismatic lah. and it doesn't hurt that he's good looking also.
3. Esther
this is quite saddening because i like the name esther and i wanted to name my second daughter (if ever) esther but it's lost its appeal after being so common. most esthers are loud and cheery and fierce, so i thinks.
Esther Lee
she's an upper6 student in seafield, and she was responsible for the Passion tickets that i got.
Esther Lourdes
this is my cell member, or rather, ex-cell member. she's very un-esther-like in that she's quiet and reserved and she's prolly the least out-there person i know.
Esther Ng
she too was my ex-cell member, but she was ex a longer time ago. this is quite typical esther-like character.
and
The Most Common Malaysian Name Ever
is
MICHELLE.
because michelle appears five (5) times in my phone.
i quite like michelles. they're not necessarily quiet all the time, but i think that they are gracious people and they look out for others and for all except one or two, i like all the michelles i know.
it's also pretty annoying to have so many michelles in my phonebook.
Auntie Michelle
this has been my unofficial piano/vocal coach as well as my mentor in life. even though we haven't bonded as much as she or i had hoped for, but i think i have no qualms opening up to her.
Michelle Chua
this is my prospective follow-uppee. she's been missing in action. time to call her, again.
Michelle Chun
my FAVOURITEST michelle ever! my dad says she's so girl-next-door, approachable, lovable, sweet. she is probably one of THE nicest people i know. EVER. ever.
Michelle Malthew
this is the most insane michelle ever. my form 2 classmate, she made a laugh out of everything especially fellow classmates and she's still the most nonsensical storyteller ever. she's like the female version of james.
Michelle Tan
this michelle is quite happening lor. was my lower6 classmate too, but she got a free ticket to college. she was my toilet buddy, and i miss having her around.

The Name That Should Have Appeared But Didn't
is
Carmen.
i've known about 5 or 6 carmens my whole life. the only reason why their names are not here is cos i'm not friends enough with them to have their phone number.
p/s: tomorrow is a holiday, but i just had to mention that again to the kl people. rub it in your faces.
